Motor IQ publishes practical, accurate car content for drivers everywhere. These are the standards every article follows.
Who writes for us
Articles are written by our writers, a team of paid contributors with real experience in testing, repair, car culture, EVs and trucks, and by the Motor IQ Team editorial desk. Some writers publish under a pen name; every one is a real person known to our editors.
How we check
- Every article is edited and fact-checked before it goes live
- We use manufacturer data, official sources and hands-on experience, and link to sources where it helps readers
- Costs and prices are labelled as estimates unless they come from a cited source
- We may use software, including AI tools, to help with research, outlines, editing and images. A human editor reviews and approves every article before it is published
Independence
Advertisers and partners have no say over editorial articles. Paid content is always labelled, as explained in our Disclosure Policy.
Images
We use licensed photos from sources such as Unsplash and Pexels, our own images and partner-supplied images, and we credit the creator and platform on each one.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and note significant corrections at the end of the article. Report an error to editorial@motoriq.co.
Safety
Repair and maintenance guides are for general information. When work is safety-critical, such as brakes, steering, airbags, fuel or high-voltage EV systems, we recommend a qualified technician.
